The Beacon Church in Whitchurch, Shropshire used Word online as part of their Sunday service.

Updates

Recently, The Beacon Church in Whitchurch, Shropshire, used Series 4 Episode 4 and Series 4 Episode 5 of Word Online on a Sunday morning as part of their service.

A leader from the church, looked at various verses in these two episodes and asked several questions about what Jesus meant!

“Until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.” Matthew 5:18

Surely the law has been replaced by grace?

“Anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell”. Matthew 5:22

Will we really go to hell if we say “You fool”?

"And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to depart into hell.…” Matthew 5:30

Did he really mean for us to gouge our eyes out or cut our hands off?

"If you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:14

Are we destined to lose our salvation if we don’t forgive someone?

What exactly did Jesus mean by these sayings?

So many questions - from just two chapters of one gospel... and I thought I was a mature Christian!

These and many many other issues are beautifully and simply explained by Martin Charlesworth in  “Word Online”. This is essential listening for every disciple, and especially for anyone - like me - who was arrogant enough to assume they understood the teachings of Jesus!
