Need to listen in the car or on the move? We have a plan for that. Download on WiFi, playback offline, in the car, or out and about, even whilst using SatNav.
Perhaps you are one of the many people who like to listen to talks, podcasts and other audio content whilst you drive, commute or work. Me too… and we had that in mind as we developed Word Online.
The Web App, as many of you will have noticed, cannot currently play content offline, and it won’t continue to play content if you switch between apps. We hope funding will allow us to develop those features in the future, but for now we have a suitable way to work around this: Podcasts.
All 184 episodes on the Life of Jesus are available on popular podcast platforms, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify and Stitcher. Each platform allows you to download the content on WiFi, to playback later through their specific App or to stream over mobile data.
As each Podcast provider has their own native app, the audio can continue to play whilst you perform other tasks on your phone, like sending a message on the bus, or using SatNav in the car. (Don’t text whilst driving!)
To ensure that you never lose your place, Word Online has a handy ‘Mark as Watched’ feature (Registered users only) that allows you to update your ‘Watched Episodes’ on the web app, if you listened or watched on a different platform, allowing you to pick up where you left off.
